Questions about machine fit
Which pull stud does my CNC machine take?
It depends on the machine builder and the spindle, not only on the taper. Two BT40 machines can need different studs: MAS-BT 45°, MAS-BT 60°, the JIS 15° type or a builder's own stud. Pick the builder and spindle above to see what the published sources say and which PTP codes match.
What happens if I use the wrong pull stud?
A stud with the wrong head angle, thread or length does not seat in the drawbar gripper as the machine builder designed. The holder can be clamped with less force, and the gripper and spindle taper can be damaged. Compare the old stud with the spec before you order.
My machine is not listed. Can PTP still help?
Yes. Use Find Your Pull Stud to choose by spindle taper, standard, thread and head angle, or send PTP the old stud, a photo with dimensions or the machine maker's drawing on WhatsApp. PTP makes pull studs to drawing.
