Pull studs by taper
CAT30 Pull Studs (Retention Knobs) – 45° Head, M12 and 1/2" Threads
CAT30 pull studs (retention knobs) screw into the back of a CAT30 tool holder (shank to ANSI/ASME B5.50, V-flange) so the machine's drawbar can pull it into the spindle. PTP makes 3 CAT30 pull studs: ANSI/ASME B5.50 with a 45° head, with M12 and 1/2" threads, solid or with a coolant hole. Every stud is CNC ground, MPT tested (Magnetic Particle Testing) and proof tested at 2.5× the clamping force.
All 3 CAT30 pull studs
Grouped by standard, then by head angle. Each ordering code opens its own page with the drawing and every dimension (mm).

How do I choose a CAT30 pull stud?
Taper. Check that the tool holder has a CAT30 shank to ANSI/ASME B5.50, V-flange. Its dimensions are on the CAT (ANSI/ASME B5.50) shank page.
Standard. Pick the pull stud type your machine's drawbar is built for: ANSI/ASME B5.50.
Head angle. ANSI/ASME B5.50 45°. Check that your drawbar gripper takes the head angle you order.
Thread. The CAT30 shank table gives 1/2"-13 UNC for the holder's pull-stud thread. The M12 version is for holders made with that thread.
Coolant. For through-spindle coolant, order a stud with a coolant hole (J, Ø4.75 mm).
Questions about CAT30 pull studs
What thread does a CAT30 pull stud have?
CAT30 pull studs from PTP come with M12 (PSAN3007MP) and 1/2" (PSAN3007P, PSAN3007CP) threads. The CAT30 shank table gives 1/2"-13 UNC for the holder thread.
Which head angles are there for CAT30 pull studs?
45° (ANSI/ASME B5.50). Order the head angle your drawbar gripper takes.
Are there coolant-through CAT30 pull studs?
Yes: 1 of the 3 CAT30 codes have a coolant hole, Ø4.75 mm (J). The table lists the coolant hole of every code.
