HSK-A Face Mill Holders – HSK-A50, HSK-A63 and HSK-A100 (DIN 69893-1)

A face mill holder carries shell-type face mills on a pilot with drive keys. PTP makes them with an HSK-A shank (DIN 69893-1 / ISO 12164-1) in HSK-A50, HSK-A63 and HSK-A100: cutter bores Ø16–40 mm for Ø40–125 mm face mills, gauge lengths 45–65 mm, 14 ordering codes in all. HSK-A tapers are clamped by the spindle itself, so no pull stud is needed. Taper AT3 or better, TIR 0.005 mm max, balanced G2.5 @ 15,000 rpm.

Questions about HSK-A face mill holders

Does an HSK-A face mill holder need a pull stud?

No. The spindle clamps the HSK-A taper from inside, so there is no pull stud. For through-spindle coolant the holder takes an HSK-A coolant tube: 47CTHA050 for HSK-A50, 47CTHA063 for HSK-A63 and 47CTHA100 for HSK-A100.

What goes with an HSK-A face mill holder?

A shell-type face mill whose bore matches the arbor: Ø16 mm for Ø40 mm, Ø22 mm for Ø50 and 63 mm, Ø27 mm for Ø80 mm, Ø32 mm for Ø100 mm and Ø40 mm for Ø125 mm cutters.
